Megan Oltman: Take Back Your Life From Migraine Key #2

Megan Oltman of Free My Brain From Migraine Pain has created an E-course called Take Back Your Life From Migraine.

The six-step course was so good for me, I decided to share a few bits with you. Not gonna give away the course though! Sign up for it. Even if you don't have Migraine, odds are you know someone who does.

Check out her blog to sign up. Or you can sign up here.

Key #2: Get Medical Help

************************************************************************************

Identify issues to discuss with your current or new doctor....

Wow, issues to discuss with current doctor...if I cared about his opinion...

! Why did you hand me back my Migraine diary without even looking at it?? Have you any idea how much TIME I spent working on it?? I’ve had Migraine for 42 years. This diary was never about me. It was for YOU and it’s standard in Migraine care for migraineurs to keep a diary or journal for doctors.

! Why do you take such good care of the single most incompetent staff of any of the doctors I see–and I see plenty, I’m disabled– but care not a whit about your patients??

! Why was it always about YOU??

When I get a new doctor...

* I know nearly as much about Migraine as you do. Don’t tell me what you know. My last doctor charged me astronomical amounts of money to tell me everything he knew. It was virtually worthless when it came to patient care. Show me what you’re willing to do to work alongside me.

* If you don’t care what self-care things I do to manage Migraine, you’re an idiot.

* If you don’t care about Migraine symptoms other than pain, you’re fired.

Wow. That felt GREAT.

Sparkling With Crystals: Part I

This is the first article in the Sparkling With Crystals series. It first appeared on my other blog, The Carmelite's Habit, on June 19, 2008.

*************************************************************************************

"It is love alone that gives worth to all things." - St. Teresa of Avila

Disclaimer: There is a branch of Christian theology concerned with proving Christian doctrines and it’s called apologetics. Roman Catholic apologetics is far beyond my little pea brain talents and there’s no apologetics here. Sorcery as discussed in the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) paragraphs 2116 and 2117 isn’t germane to this series of articles. I speak for myself as a Christian mystic and former Secular Carmelite. Ok, I’m good.

I feel like a walking pharmacy. I’m tired of feeling like a walking pharmacy. I take three prescription migraine preventatives and one prescription Meniere’s treatment med every day. I take a number that I won’t reveal for the migraine and Meniere’s attacks that occur but it’s far more than four. I’m going to do something about feeling like a walking pharmacy, if anything can be done. I’ve got my migraine specialist’s approval for this series of experiments, so I’m good again.

Recently, I reread a neat passage about crystals and migraine in the only book I recommend for migraine. Teri Robert, the nation’s #1 Migraine Disease Patient Advocate, wrote Living Well With Migraine Disease and Headaches: What Your Doctor Doesn’t Tell You–that You Need to Know © 2005 HarperCollins. It is part of my migraine education recommendations. I’ve read a library of books on migraine in my 42 years of dealing with it. This is the only book I recommend. I’ve given it away for free. I recommend it to you.

Teri has a chapter about complementary therapies. I’m a firm believer in complementary therapies. To me, they’re completing therapies because used correctly, they complete the work of the Western physician. How lovely it will be when the Western Physician will do his or her thing along side the holistic practitioner whose work will round out the patient’s belief system and the patient will get well and get on with living!

Here is what Teri wrote on pages 156 and 157 of her book:

One of the basic principles behind crystal therapy lies in the theory that different crystals or stones have different vibrations. An interaction between the vibration of the crystal and vibration of the person triggers healing responses. Some people believe crystals were created by God and can have healing properties just as herbs and minerals do. They reason that if we grind up minerals and ingest them, why not use whole stones and crystals for healing effects?...When I was introduced to these theories I figured, “Why not?”

Why not me either? I thought. So, I messaged someone who knows about crystal healing. After taking his advice, I realized there was an entire world that I had not explored, a whole world of healing out there, a beautiful world of healing with crystals.

Am I saying I had never heard of crystal healing? Of course I have. I know this man is a crystal healer. I know all the myths of crystal balls, magic wands, stories of middle- and far-Eastern rulers who used various crystals and things like ground pearls in elixirs and medicines, food and drink and enhancements for all sorts of purposes. After all, I write historical fiction and I’m in the middle of writing a novel about an ancestor of mine whose father and husband both were poisoned–that’s history. In my novel she will have the gift of stopping blood–that’s fiction. She and her sister-in-law use crystals and gemstones superstitiously and so will another character who is a distiller of essences. I’ve done historical reading about how crystals were used during the Renaissance. Queen “Bloody” Mary was said to have a toadstone that she was never without, that she used for “treating” her wine to supposedly render it free from poisons.

So why now after reading Teri’s comments in her book did I decide to research my belief system for guidance and then find out for myself if the superstitions were bogus, placebo, or real? What made me think I’d have success with crystals for migraine? Teri Robert has had some success with amethyst. Migraine is a full-body, genetic disease with no known cure. We can work to prevent them, and treat the attacks when they come, but that’s the best we can do right now. I am retired on disability from both Meniere’s Disease and migraine disease. I’ve tried other completing therapies and whilst I’ve had success for other situations, nothing has ever touched migraine. Was it a fantasy dream to think anything would help migraine in me besides a drugstore of medicine?

Crystal healers are not plain old people. Just have to come right out and say it. They have gifts that science will explain one of these days once quantum theories are thoroughly understood. Right now, there is no way to adequately discuss how crystal healers do their thing. There is so much involved in crystal healing, so much intuition, and that cannot be taught.

I feel like it’s part of the Providence of God, the manner in which God ‘provides’ for us, that this crystal healer agreed to help me. He did it for free. His time is limited.

I made good use of his advice. And became enchanted not with amethyst, which Teri mentions in her book that she uses for migraine and the crystal healer knows of too, but–clear quartz crystal which is what the crystal healer recommended that I start with. Why did he recommend that I start with clear quartz crystal? Part of the intuition of the crystal healer.

I’ve left out part of the sequence of events. Before I ever placed the first clear quartz crystal point on my head to see if it would make my head stop hurting, I had to come to terms with some serious spiritual issues. I wanted to know much more about how rocks and crystals are made and mined and what they do by themselves when they’re just sitting around, much more about how the human body works as we know it, whether crystal healing was something my belief system would even allow me to study much less utilize. I wanted to know if they worked too. Long-time readers, y’all know I’m a firm believe in What Works. Placebo, repeatable results, doesn’t matter to me. If it works, it’s legal, and it’s ok with my belief system, I’m there. But I had to start with my belief system because it is the first layer in the filter.

As we live every day, every minute, every piece of sensory input that comes into our brains is sifted through the sieve of our own belief systems. We all do that. If we’re not taught to do that then we learn to do that on our own. We learn to be true to ourselves, whoever ourselves happen to be. We learn so, so much about morals, social conventions, and how to live rightly from those who rear us. We form our own belief systems based on what we’re taught or what is revealed to us, then filter everything we see, hear, read, or think through those belief systems. I am a Christian Roman Catholic (CRC) Carmelite mystic, so every thought, word, and sound goes through the CRC mystic filter before I accept it. All of us do the same. Some of us are more Democrat than Pagan, Republican than Atheist, more closely attuned to our IRA balances than anything else or sure that our beliefs are to hold no beliefs at all. I had to filter the concept of crystals for healing through my CRC mystic beliefs before I ever sent that first message to the crystal healer. You can’t imagine the spiritual gymnastics I’ve done since then.

I already knew that certain other parts of crystal work were a duplicate effort from a Christian perspective. Using crystals in meditation is an example. In the Judeo/Christian belief system, we pray. We meditate on sacred writings and Scripture, and we can meditate when we pray. In Christianity, meditating on sacred writings is called lectio divina.

Akashic Records wouldn’t be part of Judeo/Christian sacred writings unless one believes them to be the Book of Life as Edgar Cayce, a devout Christian and considered by many to be the Father of the New Age movement, did. There are crystals said to ‘download’ information from the Akashic Records when used in meditation. Never been to the Akashic Records myself so I can’t give a report on what’s there. We would meditate on a crystal if it were part of giving thanks for God’s amazing creation but other than that, the concept of meditating on crystals is superfluous in Christianity by and of itself.

Using crystals to access other metaphysical realms is another area of duplicate effort. I wish I had done that series of articles I had planned on Carmelite spirituality so I could refer to them now!

The Judeo/Christian belief system is balanced by its mystics. The Carmelite Order, of which I was one until I voluntarily withdrew when my formation director and friend died of cancer a few years ago, is a mystical order. My particular side, the Discalced Carmelites, were reformed by St. Teresa of Avila who levitated and performed miracles that have yet to be explained. The Wiki article is quite accurate and well written. Scroll down to the Mysticism section for a good overview of her mystical phenomena. She had visions of heaven that defied her ability to describe because she didn’t know words that would match what she saw. Some of her visions seem to closely match near-death experiences and the trances of Edgar Cayce, for anyone interested. She encountered Hell too, and saw her little cell in Hell waiting for her if she chose not to repent of her sins, and Hell was populated. Honestly, I’d rather not encounter beings like some of the ones I’ve met before. I’ve seen heaven too and wonderful, marvelous beings. Many Judeo/Christian mystics have perhaps not such dramatic stories to tell as St. Teresa of Avila’s, but suffice it to say that using crystals to access other realms is duplicate effort.

My sole interest is in whether there were prohibitions against laying rocks from the earth on a human body to alleviate pain and promote health. I’m certainly no Biblical scholar, but I went to Sunday School every week. I can usually find what I’m looking for. I got started.

I searched the Bible. I searched the Catechism of the Catholic Church. I prayed, and prayed, and talked it over with family and friends. Between myself and my daughters, we’re blessed to have friends right now of nearly every religion except Satanism and I did know someone who was a Satanist priest, but I’ve kinda lost touch with him. Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, I’m working my way through all of these religions to see what I can learn.

During my prayer time alone, the Holy Spirit impressed on my soul the guidance I asked for. I won’t post all that here but if anyone is interested, comment on this column and ask and I’ll gladly share. The more people who examine this, the better we’ll all understand it and hopefully, get it right. The comments for my blog are moderated which means that what you comment comes as an email to me first. They will not automatically appear here on this page. If you don’t want your comments listed after I’ve read them, just tell me.

Neither in the Bible nor the Catechism can I find a single prohibition against using a rock from the earth on the outside of a body for health any more than I can find prohibitions or guidance against using one on the inside of a body for health either (and I’m thinking of mineral supplements now). Using crystals for meditative and/or mystic purposes is superfluous in the Christian belief system. Sorcery as defined and discussed in paragraphs 2116 and 2117 of the CCC isn’t germane to this article. So I’m on to the science of how crystals could possibly do what they most apparently do, and do well.

What I plan is four columns including this one. The next article will cover a few of the rocks and crystals I’ve experimented with and will include some of the information from the crystal healer. Regardless of belief system, there are ways to get the best relief from crystals. Silicone Valley has learned how to deal with crystals too as they’ve built computers. No need to reinvent the wheel.

Right now, I envision that the third article will cover more of the science of crystal usage today. They’re everywhere and I had no idea until I began my work on this series. Rest assured, science has no interest in any religious aspect of crystals and they get spectacular results from their fiber lasers and diamond dome music speakers. Yep, crystals are utilized for their oscillations as well as for their hardness and durability.

I plan the fourth article to cover my personal experiences with crystals so far, maybe give a couple of gem elixir recipes that might be useful to migraineurs. I might put a couple of photos of my own crystals and ones I’ve dug–I’ve been a rock hound since I visited the Smithsonian Institution National Museum of Natural History in Washington when I was 12 years old and saw the incredible rocks and minerals on display. Once you see a rock fluoresce under UV light, you’ll never be the same. When I saw the diamonds and gemstones fluoresce, I wondered if heaven could be more enchanting.

Crystals: A new world for me, a new way to relieve pain and support health that’s reusable and doesn’t require that I put anything into my mouth. A new way to utilize the fruits of the Earth, this beautiful world that I love so much. Perhaps a way to bridge some of the gap between traditional crystal work consumers and their Christian brethren, if they’ll have us, common ground one might say.

Healing: A solid bridge in this beautiful world, glowing with minerals and sparkling with crystals.

Key #1: Knowledge is Power

From Take Back Your Life From Migraine Pain by Megan Oltman

Write about your migraines in detail. How do they affect your life? What would be possible if you had fewer? Specifically, what would you do if you had half as many migraines as you have now?

Great questions and food for thought.

If I had fewer migraines, I would...

~Play in the rain instead of watching it out the window

~Capture lightning in my hands instead of listening to it rattle the windows

~Help people whose energy is so disrupted that it disrupts mine and triggers migraine attacks and Meniere’s attacks

~Never have met some of the most intelligent and educated people I've ever known in my life

~Have to learn to say, “No” with no thought to migraine

~Write about what inspires me when the inspiration strikes instead of trying to embed it into my brain until the attack is over.

~Be proud that my children would no longer be required to say, “My mother can’t. She’s disabled.”

I expect this list to lengthen.

UK Migraine news: Migraine Awareness Week Sept 7-13, 2008

What a great week for advocacy and awareness both in the US and the UK!

This week is Migraine Awareness Week in the UK, courtesy of the Migraine Trust. From the press release:

The Migraine Trust (www.migrainetrust.org), is the UK’s leading medical research charity for the condition. Wendy Thomas, chief executive of The Migraine Trust said: “There are so many treatments available now – both conventional and complementary – people really can be in much better control of their migraine.

“We’ve pulled together these tips as there are lots of simple things that you can do to reduce the number of attacks you have and the impact they can have on your everyday life.”

The Migraine Trust’s top ten tips for being migraine smart are:
* See your doctor and get a diagnosis
* Understand your medication, why you are taking it, how much you take and what it is meant to do
* Learn about your migraine triggers
* Understand the difference between a headache and a migraine
* Keep a migraine diary for three months
* Drink plenty of water - stay hydrated
* Eat regularly – avoid sugary snacks
* Take regular exercise at the right pace for you
* Think about lighting and posture, particularly at work
* Try to maintain a regular sleep pattern

The Migraine Trust is also running two main events for migraine sufferers during Migraine Awareness Week 2008:

Sunday 7 September 2008 - scientific conference

The European Headache and Migraine Trust International Congress (EHMTIC) 2008 (http://www.ehmticongress2008.com/) is an event for international neurological experts and researchers which will take place 4-7 September 2008. Members of the public can attend a special session of the conference on Sunday 7 September to find out the very latest on migraine research and treatments. For more information, email events@migrainetrust.org or call 020 7462 6606.

Saturday 13 September 2008 – Introduction to Migraine workshop

To mark the end of Migraine Awareness Week, The Migraine Trust is holding a workshop for people who have recently been diagnosed with the condition. This free Introduction to Migraine workshop will take place at Coram’s Fields, 93 Guilford Street, London WC1N 1DN from 10.00 – 11.30am on Saturday 13th September 2008. For more information, email events@migrainetrust.org or call 020 7462 6606.

For further information about migraine, treatments and much more, visit The Migraine Trust website at www.migrainetrust.org or call the Trust’s helpline on 020 7436 1336. Alternatively, you can write to The Migraine Trust at 55-56 Russell Square, London WC1B 4HP.

Maybe we can contact them about removing the word 'headache' in their description of Migraine:

Migraine is a condition of recurring headaches that may be linked with other symptoms, such as sensitivity to light and noise, nausea, vomiting, dizziness and eyesight changes.

Regardless, the world seems to be pulling together to raise Migraine awareness.

E-course: Megan Oltman's "Take Back Your Life From Migraine"

One of my blogging compatriots, Megan Oltman of Free My Brain From Migraine Pain (link left also) has written a very, very good, educational E-course about migraine, free for the asking.

I signed up for "Take Back Your Life From Migraine". Of course I did! Who knows everything there is to know about migraine, except Caffeine Man whose life is so lame he has to get his bizkit going by poking Girls Who Know More Than He Does?

I will say this about Megan's course: No one knows migraine like a migraineur.

The course is a series of six Keys. They include prompts for thought, actions for improvement, and some of Megan's personal experiences. They will educate you, make you think about migraine, and for me they've given me food for blogs.

I won't give away the course in its entirety--go ahead and sign up for it! It will come through email. Take your time going through it. Take Megan's advice.

You'll learn, rest assured. If you don't already have a handle on how to manage migraine, you will. If you know or love someone with migraine, you'll have a better concept of what this thing really is.

Look for my next post to be parts of my work for Key #1: Knowledge is Power.

Come on, Caffeine Man, hit me.

You know you have a chronic illness when:

* You understand all the medical terminology discussed on the T.V. show Grey's Anatomy.

* Your medical records have to be transported on a cart.

* To entertain people at parties you recite the side effects of medications as if you are the voice over on a commercial.

* Your spelling has improved dramatically, especially on words like "fibromyalgia" and "osteoporosis."

* Or you've been "Around the World in Thirty Minutes" with CNN's Headline News 57 times in one sitting.

* You have a panic attack in public and say, "Praise God this is only the fourth one today!"

* You're invited to the wedding of the gal who works at the hospital lab.

* You're child thinks watching you do injections of medication is "cool."

Sparkling With Crystals: Part II: Vibration of Life

"Electromagnetism is defined as the physics of electricity and magnetism. Electrical energy flows throughout the body and is produced by the body. Magnetic fields operate within and around the body."
The World Health Organization

“You are listening to NOAA Weather Radio from the National Weather Service, broadcast live on a frequency of 162.55 megahertz...”
Local NOAA weather radio hourly station identification

I’m glad to finally bring to you Sparkling With Crystals Part II: Vibration of Life. This is the second part of a series of columns on my progress with crystals and energy medicine as complementary or completing therapies, and the progress science has made in catching up.

Last week, all the components were in place and a weather trigger–hurricane Gustav--hit me to set off a combination migraine-Meniere’s attack that I had seen looming on the horizon. Plus, I was battling a head and chest cold to beat the band. Thanks to a combination of Western medicine and completing therapy using crystals and energy medicine, I’m now more functional than I would have been at this point during any attack in the past.

How did these rocks and body movements give me quick control of the more uncontrollable symptoms until rescue medicine took over? What is the mechanism by which they operate? Do they work for everyone? Are they a cure?

No, neither crystal therapy nor energy medicine, together or independent of each other, are cures for Migraine Disease or Meniere’s Syndrome. Crystal therapy and energy medicine have given me an additional edge, more relief that’s faster than rescue drugs, and they make me feel better between attacks. They complete the relief and complement my preventative plans, which I have worked out with my neurotologist and migraine specialist. But how?? How do these things work?

The sun. Moonlight. Love. Hate. The healing of Mommy kissing a boo-boo. The restoration of our spirits from being with family and friends, or from being alone in peace and quiet. The intense deepness of energy in a green forest. That moment of time when the universe stands still and a child is born. Life itself, self-sustaining life, the spark of immortality, the Breath of God.

Energy. All of it is some form or variety of energy.

Energy flows. Sunlight drips through trees. Moonlight spills across the landscape after a cloud passes. Love glows from our very limbs, hands become warm with healing. Nature’s energy rests solidly in and above the earth, hardening the wood of trees and making fluid the waters of the oceans, swirling along side of the wind, sparkling out into space. Energy flows from man to woman and life is conceived.

Energy. It’s what crystals and energy medicine address.

Some people taste energy, some smell it, some hear it, some see it. Many who are unfamiliar with the concept of identifying energy don’t realize until they undertake energy work training that they’ve been doing it all their lives.

Some people do extensive work with energy. Some traditional paths pass down energy manipulation techniques from parents to children through the generations, for good and ill. Some people, like me, play the energy work piano by ear. Science began to study energy as it’s expressed through psychic phenomena during the 1960s but there is so, so much more to the reality of energy than simply clairvoyance, telepathy, remote viewing and psychokinesis.

Energy moves. Theoretically, it only comes to a halt at a temperature called absolute zero. Energy can be blocked, directed, formed, shot like a cannonball or blown out like an explosion. It can flood a space such as a body or an object. Certain energy can be sucked completely out leaving the shell it contained. Someday if I ever get the courage, I’ll detail the two attempts to strip my core energy, both of which failed thanks be to God. Energy can flow smoothly, silently doing its natural work. When it does become stagnant like stuffy air or when it hits a roadblock and has to turn back, the process of malfunctioning can begin and it can affect body, mind, soul, and spirit.

As I was reading and reading and reading about crystals, I came across a book by Joy Gardner called Vibrational Healing Through the Chakras (The Crossing Press, PO Box 7123, Berkeley, CA 94707, 2006). It’s an interesting book, worth checking out of the library. I’ve tried to give an overview here of the scientific information she provides, but frankly she does it better than I could. Part 2 contains succinct, extremely well-documented science about the vibrations of a human body, the best I’ve come across so far. The book was worth my money for that chapter by itself, with its charts and references, but that’s just me. The rest of the book was rather skeletal. I wanted more substance and fewer testimonials. With all the science behind her, she really could have made a whole series of these books. I’m slightly bothered that she presented so many belief systems that it appeared she had none of her own but that may not be a problem for anyone else.

Anyway, here’s a quote from page 65:
A fundamental measurement in particle physics is known as Planck’s Constant. It was defined in 1900 by German physicist Max Planck (1858-1947) who showed that, at atomic and subatomic levels, energy occurs in discrete packets called quanta. Each quantum (singular for quanta) has energy hf, where f is the frequency of the radiation as measured in h, Hertz.

Since all forms of matter are composed of atomic and subatomic particles it is safe to say that everything vibrates, and can be measured in Hertz frequencies. German biophysicist Dr. Fritz-Albert Popp (born 1938), developed highly sensitive equipment that shows that all living cells emit electromagnetic waves which produce a permanent weak light in the visible range (400 to 800 nm [nanometers]) called biophoton emission. If the cells are healthy, they emit more; if not they emit less.

We have frequencies! And we glow in the dark! :D

The medical test known as an electrocardiogram (EKG) measures a human heart frequency at about 225 hertz (Hz). The electroencephalograph (EEG) measures the human brain frequency at between 0 and 200 Hz. Electromyograms measure muscle flexion frequencies between 0 and 250 Hz. According to Joy Gardner, after taking averages from around the body, a healthy person has a frequency of between 62 and 66 Hz.

Valerie Hunt, a scientist at UCLA, conducted absolutely fascinating research (fascinating if you’re an egg-head like me :D) on human vibrations. She published Infinite Mind— Science of the Human vibrations of Consciousness (Malibu: Malibu Publishing 1996). It’s been reviewed on Amazon as being over the heads of some people. Others disagree with her conclusions; however, the research stands. I’ve ordered the 2007 edition which might be more accessible to regular folks like me. I’ll let you know.

One thing is for certain: the human body does produce an ‘aura’ which Dr. Hunt was able to measure. It runs from 500 Hz to more than 20,000 Hz–how much more, she doesn’t know because her equipment only registered to 20,000 Hz. I see human auras, crystal healers rely on sensing them, many people see them without realizing what they’re looking at, and to know that science is finally measuring them is--well, gratifying isn’t a strong enough word.

More than 2/3rds of peoples’ weight is water. This next crucial bit of information relies on that fact.

The next book I want to get and read is Masaru Emoto’s The Message From Water. He’s the Japanese researcher who conducted the experiments on the effect on frozen water crystals of emotions, words, music, and essential oils.

Quote about Masaru Emoto’s research from Joy Gardner’s Vibrational Healing Through the Chakras p.208:

The water crystals seemed to respond to emotions, words, music, and essential oils. In one experiment, Emoto wrote thank you on a bottle of water and left it overnight, and by the next morning a strong symmetrical crystal pattern formed. He wrote you fool on a bottle of water and left it overnight, and by the next morning it formed a whirling pattern with a central explosion of energy...

If Emoto’s experiments are accurate, the water in your body imprints constantly from your environment. You absorb the emotions of people who are in your daily environment. You absorb the frequencies of music and other sounds and aromas in your environment. You also absorb the energies of crystals placed on your body. Researchers in England did an experiment similar to Emoto’s with an amethyst crystal, and the frozen ice revealed the pattern of tiny amethysts.

One sentence bears repeating:

If Emoto’s experiments are accurate, the water in your body imprints constantly from your environment.

That means that negative people imprint our body water, artificial electromagnetic frequencies imprint our body water, processed or low-value foods imprint our body water--EVERYTHING IMPRINTS OUR BODY WATER.

Love imprints our body water, the effects of our belief systems imprint our body water, our thoughts imprint our body water, the movements of our muscles imprint our body water--EVERYTHING IMPRINTS OUR BODY WATER.

And picture all the places in your body where you have water: blood, plasma, bile from your gallbladder, perspiration, urine, lymph flowing through your lymphatic system, cerebrospinal fluid, the vitreous and aqueous humors in your eyes, saliva, the cochleas in your inner ears (there are two ionically different fluids just in your cochleas) and others. All those places and fluids may and probably do have old, stagnant energy, non-flowing energy stored in the water unless you actively work to replace the energy. You can replace the watery fluid and that will accomplish part of it but if your organ or system is malfunctioning as it does in Migraine and Meniere's (which would cause production of energy of an incorrect frequency amongst other things), that's when a good evaluation by a Western physician is crucial. THEN explore complementary therapies.

RESEARCH!! WE NEED MORE RESEARCH!!

Now, to apply this to me...and clear quartz...and energy medicine...

I’ve found very little information about the specific frequencies of crystals and minerals. Here’s a commercial manufacturer of industrial quartz crystal whose products range from 32.8 kHz to 180 MHz–quite a spread.

Right off the bat, you can see that clear quartz has a much higher frequency range than a healthy human’s 62-66 Hz. Hold clear quartz in your naturally watery hand or put it on your naturally watery body, so that your frequencies interact with the quartz frequencies, and yours go up. Drink crystal-oscillation-charged water, and the frequencies will become part of your 2/3rds body weight.

The possibilities are utterly mind-boggling.

Not all clear quartz resonates with me. Brazilian quartz does very little for me unless it includes the metal titanium dioxide (TiO2), called rutile. Tibetan and Arkansas quartz are marvelous. I have a double-terminated Tibetan growth-interference quartz that never fails to ‘fix’ me. I have a nice, big, 7 lb hunk of a rather bashed-up Arkansas single-terminated quartz whose energy I could feel through the shipping box. As a rule of thumb for clear quartz and me, the clearer, the bigger the piece, the better. :)

I have a double-terminated Arkansas quartz point that I use exclusively for making crystal-charged water. I have my Aqua Aura point–very small but very powerful. Don’t know where the quartz originated but it if was Brazil, then it would be consistent that the addition of the gold metal coating would potentiate it. TiO2 potentiates Brazilian quartz for me so gold might also. Wish there was more research to explain why that’s so, and more research into the frequencies of people and crystals.

Wouldn’t it be grand to go to a complementary therapist, get your average frequency, then have the correct crystals prescribed? Crystals that would put you back into the correct range, or would put the troubled area back to normal?

Crystal healers do this by intuition now but like many in non-standardized medicine, they work subjectively. I was fortunate beyond belief that the crystal healer I know is superb, utterly superb. He knows me, he knows crystals, and his recommendation that I start with clear quartz was spot-on.

Clear quartz has stabilized much of my malfunctioning energy system. It has given me a handle on pain (wouldn’t I LOVE to know the frequencies of pain!). Clear quartz provides a steady source of usable energy for me, energy which I must have to live. Yeah, I have to assimilate it before I can use it but it’s easier than processing the energy from a tree. :D

The (b) part of this article will cover energy medicine, the art and science behind moving energy in and around the body. Anyone can do it–yes, even if you can’t see or sense energy, you can move it. You’ll notice a positive difference afterwards even if you don’t feel the energy moving, and that’s what counts.

Crystals and energy medicine...the wave of the complementary medicine future.
